I like February! The reason being is because February is the shortest month in a year and we work less on this month! :) Although February is a short month, this year we'll be celebrating two big celebrations on the same day, Chinese New Year ditto for Valentine's Day with our loved ones.
But we don't usually refer to the same type of loved ones when we talk about these two special occasions. Valentine’s Day is often celebrated with girlfriends, boyfriends, husbands or wives. And of cause, friends and family. What i mean is when we talk about Valentine's Day, it is all about lovey dovey's. Chinese New Year is rather with family members. February 14, 2010 is the scheduled clash between Tiger vs Cupid. While this only happens to Chinese people and those who celebrate both Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year, it will be interesting to find out what magnitude of impact this brings.
Businesses are also aligning themselves for possible implications of the clash. Take florists for example, enjoy bumper sales during Valentine’s Day. But this coming year, Valentine’s Day falls on a non-working holiday. Typically, boyfriends send bouquets of roses to girlfriends working in offices. But as the clash with Lunar New Year puts a halt to all activities, such sales strategy will not be applicable. Also, restaurants that typically close on Chinese New Year, many people might pondering around where to bring their loved ones for a romantic candlelit dinner... It could change their plans too. It’s alright for both Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year to be celebrated in one day. Just make sure you place important to these two sets of loved ones. ;)
Hmm.. I wondered how my Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year will look like.. Anyway i am looking forward to celebrate this two special occasions!
Gong Xi Fa Cai & Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!
