2010 New Year 'Do List'

The most wonderful thing about the New Year is the feeling that, once again, we can make a fresh start. Host a party that celebrates that feeling of new beginnings as you plan the details for your New Year's Eve party.

There are few things we must or have to do on the first day of new year! ;)

1) Start the day and the year being good to your body

Not over-indulging the night before with New Years Eve revelry will go a long way toward making sure you wake up refreshed and feeling well.
Nourish yourself with a warm sudsy bath, a steam shower, a jacuzzi, a massage or a facial at some point during the day.

2) Do something positive and active today

Find something you enjoy and do it today.

3) Eat as if you are in a post-holiday mode (You are)

The holiday parties, big meals, meals out, sweets, treats and alcohol are behind you. The constant temptations, weaknesses and seasonal excuses are over. Time to get on a healthier track. Not all at once, not in the extreme, bur move toward the center, away from the extremes. Kiss the excess carbs and fats, rich foods, over-eating, and party cuisine goodbye.

4) Let your partner, family and pet feel your love

Start the New Year letting those whom you share your life and home with feel your love. You don't need a pick list for this one, you know what to do. Just do it ;-)

5) Get in touch with your grateful side

Take a few minutes to feel good about all that you are grateful for. Make a mental list or even a written one. Focusing on what you are thankful for has a positive impact on how you feel and how you perceive your life. The longer the list, the better. Think about:
- your health and intellect,
- your family and friends,
- your education, your work,
- your home and your pets,
- your hobbies and interests, accomplishments, personality...

6) Call friends to wish them a great year

Call one person or call five. Start the New Year with good wishes to the people you love and appreciate or those you are worried about. A small gesture perhaps, but a warm and upbeat one that could make someone else's day.

I got FOC penalty for second time IC replacement!! :D

Finally i have settled everything in a day. IC, car license, and all the banking matters. Fortunately i don't have to pay a single sen for the panalty of second time replacement of my IC. It is all FOC for doing my IC and car license! I got so surprised and have no idea why they don't charge me on that, as i was told that we have to pay RM210 for the second time replacement of IC. I am sorry for those who has paid for the panalty. I think it depends on which JPN branch that you go. I went to the one in PJ New Town. Before that, i checked with the Seremban branch, they said i have to pay panalty of RM210! Luckily i waited for Steven to accompany to go to the one in PJ. Perhaps you can go to the PJ New Town branch if you're facing any similar problem and who knows you might save the panalty. Good luck! :)

小林慢煎糕 & Hokkien Noodle @ Restaurant Ahwa Jln 223 PJ

Supper with mom & Joanne at Restaurant Ahwa 新青山阿华福健面 nearby our home at Jalan 223 PJ. I have been to this restaurant few years ago, Joanne decided to bring mom over to try it.

Joanne also recommended us to try some pancake. She has tried before and love it so much. This small stall is just outside Ahwa Restaurant. Many people are queing up for their orders. The name of this pancake stall is called Little Lim Penang Pancake.

All pancakes are freshly made upon order. Very fresh, clean.

The menu

There are over 20 type of selections for you to choose from the menu.

As the name goes, it's Penang style pancake. The way they make the pancake is very similar like the Malay style pancake - Apom Balik which you normally foung in the night market. But the owner of this stall is actually have a better business minded. He added more varieties in the pancake. Price ranges from as low as RM1.90 to RM4.90 per piece. You can have a simple combination of Chocolate, Banana, Peanut, Sweet Corn, Cheese and mix them all around. For something a little bit expensive, you can have a combination of Egg, Ham, Cheese and Mayonnaise.

We have ordered a piece of Ham Mayonnaise Cheese. The fresh hot crunchy feeling when you put it in your mouth. Trust me, it was so yummy!! I would love to try it again next time!! :)

The control of the fire and wok is really important to cook up with a delicious plate of Hokkien noodle.

Overall Rating: 4.5/5 (for Little Lim Penang Pancake), 3/5 (for Ahwa Hokkien Mee)
Price: Reasonable
Ambience: Normal Chinese kopitiam, not so clean and you might smell some stink beside the drain.

I was being robbed again!!!

Yesterday supposed to a happy day. Mom is coming to KL to shopping with me & Joanne. But it turned to be an awful unlucky black Friday to me! I got robbed again! (This is my second time being robbed but this time was pickpocket). We were shopping in MNG boutique in Mid Valley Megamall, it was super packed with people inside the boutique. Because they are having clearance sales. I was carrying an unzip handbag that time and concentrated on ‘hunting’ for some nice pieces for myself and mom. I didn’t realize that my wallet has been stolen until a lady screamed louder to everyone that who is dropping their hand phone which is falling on the floor. I was looking at the hand phone and can’t even recognized that is actually my hand phone. Because the front of the hand phone was facing down, battery and the back cover was dispersed. And you know what I just changed this new phone that was why I am not really sure and recognized that is my phone. Maybe I am so used to my old hand phone. :(
It was until someone picked up the phone and I quickly grabbed that and checked my handbag. Then I realized that my wallet has disappeared! I was so shocked and my mouth kept on trembling when my sis and mom talked to me. The first thing my sis helped me to do is cancel my credit cards and also my ATM card. It wasn’t a lot of money inside my wallet as I don’t like to keep too much money in my wallet. But what make me slack was my important belongings such as my IC, driving license, etc. We did report this to the sales persons at the cashier, hoping that they could offer helps. Although I knew it was too late to catch the thief, but at least I need some advices from them what should I do. Surprisingly they seemed to be calmed and normal. No concern, no caring.. Not at all.. And told us that the CCTV is not ON during PH and weekends! If we want to see the CCTV, we have to write in to request. I pleaded to them, but to no avail. What is this? Can you accept these excuses? Sorry I can’t! I believ someone who has experienced the same thing as me and you will understand how i feel. I knew there is no point for arguing, things won’t be settled and it only will drag my time if i keep on arguing with them.

My mind was totally blank. All I can think is talk to the concierge department of the mall. They advised me to lodge a police report at the police station which is also at the same building. When we entered in the police station i noticed that there was a lady there which she also making a police report. Her case was exactly as me. I filled up a form from the mall concierge too, so that they could contact me if they found my wallet, etc. After everything is done, I did not go home straight. Instead I accompanied mom and sis to continue shopping as I doesn’t want my mom to came all the way from Seremban and go back with empty handed. Despite my heart still not feeling well but I tell myself no point to be upset as thing has been happened. With 2 similar bad experiences, I take it as a lesson. I learned to be extra pre-caution of keeping my belongings very safely when I go out next time.

Here I would like to advice all the readers of my blog to be extra alert with your handbag and important belongings. Especially go to the crowded places.

P/S: While talking to a person in-charged at the concierge, I noticed that there is a thick file filing with tons of paper in it. All are about things missing from customers, snatch theft, robbery, pickpocket cases, etc. The security was even telling me that this kind of cases happen in MNG very often, especially during sales and that is the reason MNG hired security guards to minimize the chances of robbery and snatch theft and pickpocket cases. But I can tell you this is pointless and never depend on them! Because they only stand at the entrance and won't do anything else. Very useless! The reason I am saying this is because, they didn’t offer any help and just stand there and looked at me when i told them i got robbed. Even my hand phone dropped infront of one of the security guard from the main entrance, he doesn’t even bother to check out or pick up the phone. It would be good for enforcement authorities to check on the mall once in a while. I am sure mine is not an isolated case. Good luck to all of you!

Saturday Lunch @ New Restaurant Ipoh Chicken Rice, Jln Gasing

On the way to Midvalley, me and Steven together with another 2 friends, we had lunch in New Restaurant Ipoh Chicken Rice, Jalan Gasing. When we reached, the place was full of people but service was pretty fast. This restaurant should not be difficult to find, it's located the usual busy Jalan Gasing. Coming from KL, take the Jalan University junction and turn left at the traffic light. You should be able to find this 3 shoplot in 1 on your right hand side. The history of this restaurant started since 1977. The ambience of the restaurant which is fully air-conditioner and spacious but it always packed to brim! As i said earlier, even the place is always pack but their service is pretty fast and i have noticed that people here seems to be very rush, they normally sit down, place order, eat, pay and ready to go.

The Menu

We order 2 portions of mixed chicken. Which is steamed village chicken and rosted chicken. Not the best i have tried but certainly quite satisfying.

Char Siew & rosted pork.. Both are tasty. For rosted pork, skin is crispy while the meat is tender.

Pork meatball soup which is tasty and chewy and the soup is sweet!

Overall Rating: 3.5/5
Service: Very Good, fast

Twilight Saga - New Moon

Went out to watched New Moon with Steven at Cinneleisure yesterday.

I am a fan to The Twilight Saga. But not consider as a hardcore fan. I have all the 4 books. And now i have finished half of the book of Eclipse, the third book of Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer.

The Story line:
After Bella recovers from the vampire attack that almost takes her life, she looks to celebrate her birthday with Edward and his family. However, a minor accident during the festivities results in Bella's blood being shed, a sight that proves too intense for the Cullens, who decide to leave the town of Forks in Washington, for Bella and Edward's sake. Initially heartbroken, Bella finds a form of comfort in reckless living, as well as an even closer friendship with Jacob Black. Danger in different forms awaits.

“New Moon” effortlessly sweeps everyone along with its intoxicating passion. While being a supernatural kind of movie, “New Moon” seems to be focused more on romance – too much on them. The screenplay at times can be very draggy at times, especially it involves the slow-talking Edward, but it can surely make everyone glued to their seats.

The movie soundtrack was really captivating. Notably, the song while Bella was sitting facing the window from Oct to Dec and also the upbeat songs during the chase in the forest. Besides the audio pleasure, the visual pleasures were the topless hunky werewolves and Jacob charming smile. On the vampire side, was the elegant and stylist Alice with such good fashion sense and she looked stunning while in her sports car rushing to the Volturi. Totally awesome!!

Generally, the movie won’t disappoint its superfans, nor it’ll scare away first timers. At almost two hours of runtime, “New Moon” is well categorise as romantic flick, with actions sandwiched in between. Although no comparison to its predecessor, “Twilight,” “New Moon” is certainly a movie worth spending a few bucks on. Even my boyfriend said ok despite he was feeling quite bored at the beginning of the movie. :P
