Happy Birthday to my little nephew!

Last Sunday is my little nephew's 1 year old birthday. Time flies very fast. He is a big boy now! (although he is only 1 year old baby) :P

Grapes from Sendayang, Negeri Sembilan

Do you think it is possible that grapes can be growing in our hot and humid country like this? Yes. It is possible! We can now enjoy these grapes in Sendayang.

Beside planting fresh fruits from the farm, you are also given a choice of picking grapes straight from the farm. Sendayang is situated about 6km from Jalan Seremban-Port Dickson.

According to the farm owner, the best time to enjoy these grapes are between Sept 20 and 25.

To buy grapes from the vineyard, contact 016-228 8819 (Arthur Baumann) or 012-376 4751 (Farah).

Lunch @ Kogetsu Japanese Restaurant, Saujana

I had lunch with Fiona & Irene at Kogetsu Japanese Restaurant(湖月), Saujana today. Kogetsu Japanse Restaurant is located in Saujana Hotel. Kogetsu literally means “reflection of the moon on the lake”. Because it’s situated just next to the lake and a view of the greeny golf course. So I suppose you might wanna grab a seat just beside the windows. :) This Japanese restaurant is actually by itself, like a house. Pretty authentic and traditional Japanese restaurant. I've been here several times since few years ago, the inside deco somewhat seemed like they have not changed the furniture in there since they opened, or it could be that they wanted that authenticity. :P The restaurant also operates an open kitchen, hence if you're a little observant, you can even catch some "fire action" happening at the window reflection. Everything is very fresh & presented beautifully.

Early celebration of Mid-Autumn Festival

Chinese will be celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival which falls on the fifteenth day of the eighth moon (on the lunar calendar). Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for family reunions for the full moon has always represented the gatherings of friends and family.

Steven bought this Wing Wah mooncakes for my mum at Hong Kong International Airport. This is my first time trying mooncakes from HK. So we've tried this mooncakes before the actual Mid-Autumn Festival next month. :)

The design of this metal box is quite traditional

It contained 2 double egg yolks lotus paste, 1 double egg yolks red bean paste & 1 assorted nuts. We've tried all, the pastry is too thin till it leaks oil. Its really soft to touch and the pastry is not evenly shaped. One part at the bottom can see the exposed paste too. Maybe because there are 2 yolks in it, making the whole cake too oily. I personally feel its kinda strange to have yolks in red bean paste. However, it tasted not bad. :)
