Betty's Midwest Kitchen, Aman Suria Damansara

Betty’s Midwest Kitchen is a family run restaurant. Started since October 2009. From outside, you won’t be attracted by this restaurant as the exterior just very common. I always believe that look does not matter, the food matters the most! And Betty’s Midwest Kitchen has proved it to me this statement is true! Sources said that Betty is the owner and chef of the restaurant. Betty picked up the homely Midwest American heartland recipes from her daughter who is married to an American mat salleh. This restaurant serving mainly porky food with reasonable price. It is advisable to book for lunch and dinner as capacity in the restaurant is limited.

From the menu, I noticed that this place serves all sorts of pork dishes, ranging from ribs, sausages, bacon, ham, meatloaf and many more.

The menu is quite extensive with very detail explaination.

Normally I feel American food is pretty huge portion and filling. But in Betty’s Midwest Kitchen, food serves in medium portion and you won’t feel too greasy or meaty.

Here is the food that we ordered!

I had the Sloppy Joe (RM 12.90), a dish of ground pork, onions, sweetened tomato sauce or ketchup and other seasonings, served on a hamburger bun. Just spoon the Sloppy Joe mixture on the burger and enjoy it. I would say it tasted very similar to Bolognese sauce. No doubt it is called Sloopy Joe as it was messy (but deliciously so) to eat.

My colleague Nigel ordered Jucy Lucy (RM 13.50), hamburger with melted cheese core inside the thick grilled beef and pork pattie and served with fries.

The Jucy Lucy was suprisingly small. More like a kid's meal. Despite on the size, it tasted great!

My colleague Dion ordered Pulled Pork Burger (RM12). A burger with the slow roasted and shredded pork and braised in special sauce.

The Mash Potato (RM5) too deserved to be mentioned, it was soft, creamy and really smooth and best served with its mash potato gravy.
