February B'day Celebration @ Saisaki Japanese Buffet Restaurant

I've been to Saisaki Japanese Buffet Restaurant several years ago. After so many years, i came back again last weekend to celebrate Steven's mom's birthday. There were crowds waiting outside for their seat. Despite we've make our reservation earlier, we still waited for about 5 mins. I advise you to make a reservation in advamce before you go there, especially during weekends and public holidays. Since i've not been here for so long, i totally forgot the environment and restaurant design inside. I think they've renovated teh place and added lots of other food sections. I remember last time this place is pretty small. The restaurant serves all kind of Japanese buffet spread. Additionally, it also features a small selection of local and Korean dishes.
Welsome to Saisaki Japanese Buffet Restaurant. I hope i can be their restaurant ambassador, so that i can eat here for free!! Hehe!! *Dreaming*

The Sashimi was just fantastic... Excellent varieties. Just can't get enough of the offerings! For the price that buffet is asking, i think it's value for money, even though there may be other restaurant out there who could rival them. As i mentioned earlier, i've been to Saisaki once prior to this. During that visit, i found the food selection to be tasty and fresh. This time was no different. The Sushi bar is the best i've seen for buffets so far. The selection is quite extensive. The more common Sushi is arranged on the outside counter while the more unique ones are displayed inside a refrigerated area to keeps them cold and fresh.

I so mad in love with Sashimi!!!!!!
The first thing i do was of cause go to the Sashimi bar. Here, they're not stingy when serving Sashimi. They cut it thick and it's so fresh and YUM!!!
Well, there're smoked salmon roll, Sashimi, Ikura (salmon roe). The Sashimi was super mad delicious! Tepanyaki lamb was not bad. I'm not a fancy for lamb, so i didn't eat that. But Steven's brother in law said the meat was tender, juicy and very tasty.
Cheese Baked Mantis Prawn. It was a complimentary dish by the restaurant. One Mantis Prawn per person only. Haha! It tasted ok.

Alongside the Sushi is a small section dedicated to freshly deep fried Tempura as well as some pan fried and grilled stuffs. Beside that, there is Tepanyaki section, where you can choose from either chicken, beef, lamb or even vegetarian.

Opposite from the fresh dishes were the pre-cooked selection which included things like fried Udon, Miso soup, BBQ chicken wongs, softshell crabs, fried vegetables, Korean side dishes such as Kimchi, porridge, rice, and many many more. The dessert section is on one counter beyond that, included some cakes, cookies and my fav ice cream (especially green tea ice cream)!!! *wink*. There's also a section on the other restaurant that prepares Sukiyaki, On top of that, you can also get to eat Peking duck here!! I felt regretted that i miss the chance to try their Pekign duck because i just noticed it when i was on the way to take ice cream and my stomach was so fulled as if a balloon is going to burst soon so i thin next time i should try!
One thing i must say is you gotto try the osyter! If you like to eat fresh oyster. I bet you'll love it! Not only fresh, every osyster serves was huge! Steven's brother in law had more than 15 osyters! Can you imaging that! Haha!! Make sure you be the first one there to grab the fresh oyster, because it can finish very fast. I noticed many people rushed to get it immediately when the waiter replenish it.

Edamame (green soybean)

We went on last saturday. It was still during Chinese new year festival (the fourteen days of CNY). The restaurant served every table with Lou Sang. I felt kind of surprise when the waiter brought over the Lou Sang. I am so happy, because i like Lou Sang!! It was just a vegetarian Lou Sang because there were no Yee Sang (salmon) or meat inside.

Despite a basic Lou Sang.. No salmon, no meat.. But it tasted good! So happy that i still can Lou Sang teh day before Chap Goh Meh! :D

Cod fish Miso soup. Very nice, fish was fresh and soup was tasty and sweet
Terriyaki salmon. YUM!
Sharkfin soup
Chawan Mushi. Very smooth and YUM!
I love the green tea ice cream!!YUM YUM!! Beside Sashimi, that was the highlight of the meal, i think because i've a sweet tooth. :D

To celebrate the restaurant 10 anniversary, there're now offering great promotion. You can now get 15% discount for weekend and 20% for weekday.

Weekend promotion 15% discount for weekend Friday - Dinner. Saturday & Sunday - Lunch & Dinner, while weekday is 20% discount. Not valid on public holiday. Not sure when will this promotion end, you're advise to call and check out with them.

Anyway, the bill was RM585 for 9 adults and 3 childrens inclusive of tax. Lunch buffet costs RM50.40++ while Dinner is RM63++. Children dine for half price. Overall, i think it was a good meal. Kinda reasonable price (with fresh oyster & Sashimi!) with the fresh food and good quality.

Overall Rating: 4.5/5

Price: Reasonable (with the food they served)

Ambience: Good!

Service: Good
