Shopping!

Steven accompanied me to shopping today, although he has to attend a friend's wedding in KL tonight. I am thankful that i got such a loving and understanding boy friend! Thanks darling! :) We went to Kota Damansara (KD), i was told by Minny that this place is just like another Bangsar! A lot of boutiques, etc.. Wow!! I was so excited and can't wait to check it out! When we arrived, no doubt this is a new place for shopping and many fancy and casual restaurants to dine in too. Row of Boutiques on the street! Finding a parking space is pretty hard here either during week day or weekend. Fortunately we were lucky, we got our parking within 5 mins! We walked in a couple of boutiques, i just can't concentrate and no mood. Don't know why, may be i felt too hot by walking from one sop to another on this hot weather. So i suggested to go to 1 Utama since it was our initial plan and it is just 10 mins from KD.

There was so many people in 1 Utama! This time we were not as lucky of getting a parking space. :( It took us about half an hour to get a parking! WTH!!

Anyway i wouldn't let this to ruin my mood. Shopping is like heaven!! Believe it or not? I bought myself 7 piece of clothes (dresses, tops, skirt, short..) in just half an hour! Steven decided to browse the men's department to see if he would want anything. 10 mins later, he was trying on shirts, and buying them. So happy that he found a few shirts that he loves! And the bigger score? They were so cheap after discount!! :D

I felt like shopping more, but Steven gotto rush home to get ready for his friend's wedding. So we ended our shopping for today.. To be continue tomorrow! Yay!! :P

Last weekend, we went to watched Avatar in 1U shopping center. Steven wanted to get the 3D ticket and we thought we able to get it as we reached the cinema quite early and it was the first show on that day. Unfortunately, there was only few seats left at the first row from the cinema screen. So we got no choice and bought the normal ticket.

James Cameron creates a new world where you are sure to feel gooseflesh by experiencing the novel and unique treatment never seen before. The director brings forth such an exquisite new world which has every single element to take your breath away. The film is a blend of novelty, aestheticism, technical treatment and minutely detailed presentation. At no time in the movie, you will feel that there is absence of plot. The movie heralds the beginning of the CGI and 3-D cinema with its special effects and shock treatment.

The plot is simple but highly engaging. It brings out a futuristic world where the US Armed Forces are seen discovering a priceless mineral in Pandora, a distant moon orbiting a star. The Forces intend to tame the Na’vi inhabitants before securing the mineral from the moon. So, instead of sending their scientists and rocket launchers, the Forces decide to send the human beings who shall take over the get up of a Na’vi. These humans aim at infiltrating the race that always stands up for peace. They also want to know all about their strengths and weaknesses.

And now enters Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) who is endowed with this task of getting among the Na’vi people and disturbing the peace environment of the area. In no time Jake falls in love with Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) who happens to be the daughter of the Na’vi chief. The love plot weaves excellently into the fabric of the main plot and hence one finds it refreshing than being out-of way.

‘Avatar’ is an Indian word and thus the Indian audience will find several connotations in the movie. The flick is a complete cinematic experience and stands out a work of technical superiority. Cameron intends to spread out a message to save the world before it is too late. He does not introduce any preachy or moralistic tone in the movie yet very candidly warns human being to abstain from his destructive tendencies in order to keep the race of human surviving on the earth. Though there are no big names in the movie, yet they succeed in gaining over the interest and attention of the audience. To sum up, ‘Avatar’ is a must watch and you are sure to feel every moment of it!

My Second 'lil nephew just born!!!

The good news that i received on this very early morning is my sister has delived her second baby boy! I am an auntie to my two nephews now and getting older and older.. Ya.. I know but it doesn't matter.. This is supposed to be a happy news! :D I am happy for my sister and her hubby for being parents again, my mom for being a grandma again and etc!!

I am very happy for my sister. She has been waiting for this day for months, finally she got to meet her new baby! Can't wait to see them soon!

Dinner @ TGI Friday's, The Curve

I am sure many of us has been to TGI Friday's. I just share with you what i had during my dinner last week in TGI Friday's The Curve. TGI Friday's is best known for its relaxing atmosphere, fresh and generous American-style menu, TGI Friday's is one place that provides an environment where families and individuals can have a good time and great experience. We've order two sets of 2 course meal special and 1 a la carte meal.

Cajun Fried Chicken Salad - Crispy Cajun Battered chicken strips served on tossed greens with tomatoes, hard boiled egg and Monterey Jack cheese. Served with Honey Mustard dressing.

Key West Grouper - A roast mild whitefish topped with a sparkling citrus splash, served with seasonal vegetables.

Fish & Chips - Three portions of fish filet and fried to golden brown. Served with Friday's Fries, coleslaw and tartar sauce.

Buffalo Wings - Traditional upstate New York -style chicken wings marinated with spicy sauce then deep fried. Served with crisp celery sticks and tangy Bleu Cheese dressing!

Ambience: Casual dining restaurant with wooden floors, Tiffany lamps, bentwood chairs and striped tablecloths. The bar area, with its brass rails and stained glass, contributed to the ambience.

K11 - Hong Kong's World First Art Mall

Another new place to go in Hong Kong now!

K11, the world’s first ‘Art Mall,’ opened recently in Tsim Sha Tsui – the brainchild of Adrian Cheng, grandson of Cheng Yu-Tung – who just happened to be the billionaire founder of one of the largest real estate and retail companies in Asia, New World Development. Adrian’s experience in retail spans to overseeing over 40 department stores in Mainland China and also the famous Chow Tai Fook jewellery chain stores all over Asia.

A bit flash? Cheng thinks not; ‘Hong Kong needs something new with some element of street entertainment and I believe the answer is a combination of art, people and nature.” The ‘Art and Retail’ project cost HK$3 billion and covers over 340,000 square feet of space combining 100 retail stores, art exhibitions from local artists and an open-air piazza. The idea is that you can shop and tour the six-storey mall, while still appreciating the art pieces installed throughout.

New Year Buffet Dinner @ Kampachi, Equatorial Hotel Melacca

We were celebrating our 2010 new year in Kampachi, Equatorial Hotel Melacca.
Kampachi has established a reputation for serving traditional Japanese cuisine. The interior boasts of pine furnishings, Japanese paintings and a splattering of objet d'art. Soft, piped-in Japanese music set the mood for dining.

Splashing lemon juice over the mussels and then gulping these succulent flesh down the throat is heavenly.

Sashimi is my most favourite Japanese food! Raw and fresh sashimi that are cut to just nice bite size. The tenderness of the salmon lingers inside the mouth makes you wanna eat more. Of course, it has to go with the ginger pickle and wasabi.

Candlelit new year buffet dinner

Chawan Mushi or steamed egg custard. Its ingredients consist of egg, ginko, chicken, mushroom and prawns.

Tempura which ranges from prawns, squids and vege.

Besides the fruits, red bean soup and ice-cream, there are desserts such as fruit tarts, cakes etc. I didn't like much of their desserts because it's not much special, i can get a better one outside.

Lunch @ Donald & Lily's Corner Melacca

During my stays in Melacca on new year, i was tempted for Baba Nyoya food. Steven, me and his mum was wandering around Jonker Street and we decided to go to Donald & Lily's Corner.
Donald & Lily’s Corner is located at Jalan Tan Cheng Lock (Heeren Street), within walking distance from Jonker Street and the reddish Dutch Square. However, the location of Donald & Lily’s Corner is less noticeable. You must walk to the back of Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock, or go to Kota Laksamana car park, and you can find Donald & Lily’s Corner . The dining area is located at the upstair of an old house built before World War II. During weekend lunch hours, please expect to wait for a long queue.

Shaved ice, topped with a palm sugar syrup so real tasting is it amazing. Mix it up to reveal mung bean noodles, beans and sago.


The making of Cendol

Asam Fish. The fish tasted good, but i can't taste any asam. It was more curry taste than asam. Probably they have put too much of curry powder in it.

Tau Kua Rojak (RM 3.50) is another worth-mentioning dish. It’s a dish of bean curds (tau kua), cucumbers and pineapples topped with rojak sauce.

Pongteh Chicken. No comment. Quite tasty! :)

Nyonya Laksa (RM 3.20) is undeniably the signature dish here. Nyonya laksa is enriched with various spices but cooked without curry powder.
