Village Park Restaurant, Damansara Uptown

This wasn’t my first time visit Village Park in Damansara Uptown. I used to come here for lunch when I worked somewhere nearby this area few years ago. Village Park Restaurant is located in Damansara Uptown.

Last Sunday, mom was here to accompany me and Joanne. We took her to Village Park.
For the first timer, my advice is to be patient if you wanna eat in this restaurant. Due to their popularity, it would be very crowded all the time. We reached Village Park around 10am on Sunday, the queue was shockingly long, and all seats were occupied although they set up tables over a span of few shops including the parking space in front. We were lucky to grab a table among the jostling crowd. Despite the busyness, the service here was quite friendly.

From Nasi Lemak Biasa, Nasi Lemak Redang, Nasi Lemak Sotong to Nasi Lemak Daging. Beside that, they offer various dishes as additional add-ons like ayam goreng rempah, sambal udang, sambal petai and rendang. I noticed that all their Ayam Goreng are drumstick!

So, we finally got our Nasi Lemak…

Nasi Lemak at Village Park Restaurant is not cheap, with sambal, fresh cucumber, anchovies, peanuts, hard boiled egg, fragrant coconut milk rice and a fried chicken (tight/drumstick) RM7. However, their fried chicken was fresh and crispy!

Ice Milo Dinasaur

The most 'kao' Milo that i ever had before!!! Very nice! Does it look like sands on top? lol

Personally, i think Village Park's Nasi Lemak was OK. Very little rice they provided, but the fried chicken was the BEST! If you pay attention, you might notice some pictures on the restaurant's wall featured some famous celebrities and people who have eaten at Village Park before. One of them is my hero.. aka Tun Dr. Mahathir!

Very important message to photographers: Village Park Restaurant doesn't allow any photographs within the restaurant. A big sticker is stated in front of the main entrance of the restaurant. As a person who like to blog, i can't bother about the warning.. :P I quickly snapped few pictures without their knowing. :D

Gourmet Malayo, Ara Damansara

My colleague said he would like to try this newly opened restaurant nearby to our office. To be frank, without the banner we might not know where is this restaurant. Gourmet Malayo is situated at the corner lot same row as Proton show room in Ara Damansara here.

Their signature dish - Spanish rice, RM6.30. With a piece of rendang chicken and some veggies.. We think it was pretty expensive.

The rice is quite similar like butter rice. Abit like nasi briyani, but nasi briyani have more spice. If you refer to google, spanish rice is Paella. This spanish rice i had is totally different! It doesn't taste like a real spanish rice (Paella)! You might be dissapointed, just go and don't expect too much.
