Oriental Chicken Restaurant, Glenmarie

Glenmarie is now quite famous, beside well known as a light industrial area, it is also famous for food place! All because of the mushrooming of restaurants in this area recently.
Oriental Chicken Restaurant is a newly opened restaurant. Selling mainly chicken rice. Beside that, they also served other dishes which i can't remember that name.. LOL.

I thought of ordering roasted chicken rice. But i was surprise when i was told by the boss, they only serve steamed chicken. Hmmm.. Don't ask me why, cause i don't know too. :P

The chicken was smooth and tasted 'kampung chicken' compared to the rather bland, probably frozen chicken we get. Steamed chicken + rice + bean sprout + chicken soup - RM5.90 When i looked at the bill, i noticed that tights, drumstick, wings, etc.. All same price! No additional charges.

The rice was simply marvelous. You are able to taste each grain of rice, infused with chicken essence. Slightly on the hard side but that allows you to enjoy every grain instead of spoonful of carbohydrates..
Fresh cruchy bean sprout. I like to eat with the sauce.
This is recommended by the boss. For those who doesn't like or want to try something different, you can try this. Sorry i forgot the name, but it show on the menu. :) My colleague said it was very nice, the only thing was the pork is abit fat.. Overall, he said it was good. I believe they marinated the pork quite well to made the pork so 'tasty'. Chef recommended set meal - RM8.90.

Heng Kee Chicken Rice

If you are in the Subang Jaya or Sunway vicinity and you happen to be craving for a warm plate of Hainanese chicken rice with cheap price, head over to Heng Kee along Jalan SS13/2 Subang Jaya Industrial Estate. This friendly husband-wife stall sells some of the cheapest and yummiest chicken rice around!
Over here, you are assured of a sumptuous meal of chicken rice with a warm bowl of soup to wash down the yumminess.
Cheap chicken rice that is delicious at the same time is quite rare these days. If you happen to drop by the area, this nondescript stall is worth checking out for a quick, no-fuss meal.

A drab look stall which serve delicious chicken rice

You may choose to have plain chicken rice (roasted or steamed), or mix with roasted pork (Siew Yok), Char Siew to be served with chicken rice. Beside having chicken rice, you may also add Yong Tau Fu. There are many types of fried Yong Tau Fu for you to choose. Each Yong Tau Fu is RM0.70I had mixed chicken rice, Roasted Chicken + Char Siew. RM4. The skinless chicken meat was silky smooth and delightfully tender unless some quite hard to bite. While Char Siew, it was fresh too, got the honey taste. I think they marinated the Char Siew with enough honey on it. Damn yummy!!! :D
The rice was fragrant, savory and non-oily.
It cames with a bowl of chicken soup with alot of spring onions to make the soup more fragant. If you don't like spring onion, i advice you to let the owner know before the food is served. I told my colleague, Myke that the soup is very sweet and nice. He said.. Of cause la, cos it is too much of ajinamoto.. LOL Maybe la.. But who care? As long as we gotto eat the fresh yummy chicken rice with cheap price.. What else to complain about? Hehe!!

The chili sauce is perfect with the chicken!

Lunch @ Restaurant Kar Heong Subang Jaya

BoldLunch with colleagues in Kar Heong Chicken Rice Shop, Subang last week.

The fresh chicken is fleshy, tender and tasty

Char Siew.. I find it quite common. But nice.

Crunchy bean sprouts

Kevin ordered a bowl of Ipoh Hor Fun. He said the noodle is soft. He seems enjoyed it.

The delicious chicken rice is fragrant and filled with the flavorful essence of chicken, pandan leaf and ginger. It is non sticky and you can taste every single of rice. Myke even had 2 1/2 bowls of chicken rice! Haha!

Nigel said he barely used the chili sauce on his chicken, because he wanted to savor every bit of its flavor. However, i think you gotto try it. Enjoy the rice with the chili sauce that is thick and spicy!

The bowl of clear broth that comes with it was quite nice.

Overall Rating: 4/5
Price: Reasonable
Ambiance: Very small restaurant with air conditioning. Very crowd during lunch time.
Service: Good

Saturday Lunch @ New Restaurant Ipoh Chicken Rice, Jln Gasing

On the way to Midvalley, me and Steven together with another 2 friends, we had lunch in New Restaurant Ipoh Chicken Rice, Jalan Gasing. When we reached, the place was full of people but service was pretty fast. This restaurant should not be difficult to find, it's located the usual busy Jalan Gasing. Coming from KL, take the Jalan University junction and turn left at the traffic light. You should be able to find this 3 shoplot in 1 on your right hand side. The history of this restaurant started since 1977. The ambience of the restaurant which is fully air-conditioner and spacious but it always packed to brim! As i said earlier, even the place is always pack but their service is pretty fast and i have noticed that people here seems to be very rush, they normally sit down, place order, eat, pay and ready to go.

The Menu

We order 2 portions of mixed chicken. Which is steamed village chicken and rosted chicken. Not the best i have tried but certainly quite satisfying.

Char Siew & rosted pork.. Both are tasty. For rosted pork, skin is crispy while the meat is tender.

Pork meatball soup which is tasty and chewy and the soup is sweet!
