Sushi Zanmai, One Utama Shopping Centre

I passed by Sushi Zanmai at One Utama many times but have yet to try it simply because this Japanese restaurant always a long queue of people outside, especially during weekend and peak season. I told Steven that i must try it to understand how good it is about. Again, i was in One Utama, shopping with Steven last Sunday. I told him i wanted to have my dinner in Sushi Zanmai. We went to check out the queue as early at 5.30pm and hope there isn't long queue. Surprisingly, there was a short queue in front of Sushi Zanmai and we were happily joined in the queue. It seems that Sushi Zanmai in One Utama is forever crowded! We waited for 15 minutes... Finally, we were ushered by a friendly waitress to a standalone table next to the kitchen instead of by the kaiten belt. Doesn't matter la, as long as we got to sit down, place order and eat!! Hehe! I was like a happy person like no one!! *Happy jumping*

The genuine conveyer-sushi restaurant provides more than 100 assortments of sushi and 100 varieties of cooked food that are authentically Japanese. .

The restaurant plays with background music. No idea why they would play English songs when they are rather a fine Japanese restaurant. However, i did not complain about the not so suitable background music because i love any kind of songs. :P

Sushi Zanmai has a pretty menu with lots of pictures. It makes deciding what to order so much easier.
The first dish the waitress served us is California Maki - RM3.80. I think the taste was nice especially eat with the moyonaise. The only thing was the sushi broke into half when we tried to use the chopstick to hold it!
I ordered Unatana Don - RM15.80 (small). The small portion was actually pretty sizeable for me. Plenty of rice with about 5 sliced Unagi. The Unagi was done nicely with the sauce. On top of the Unagi was an half cooked egg. The egg york still half cooked when i cut it. Yummy!
Steven order Chicken Katsu Don - RM8.80 (small). He said it was ok.

Most of our orders are small but you can order big if your appetite is big. Don’t worry, the price for big portion is pretty reasonable too…

Sushi Zanmai is having Unagi special promotion for the month of July. Promotion starts from 2nd July - 29th July.

There are different type of Unagi promotion for every week of July. The offered as:

2nd July - 8th July: Unagi To Teppanyaki, RM12.80

10th - 16th July: Unagi To Katsuo Gohan No Sansai Ankake, RM12.80

16rd - 22nd July: Sushi Zanmai No Unagi Katsu, RM12.80

23rd - 29th July: Unadon Special, RM12.80

We tried the promotion of the week... Unagi To Katsuo Gohan No Sansai Ankake - RM12.80. The dish came after i have finished my Unatana Don... My stomach almost fulled and stuffed with all Unagi, when i looked at this promotion dish i know i can feed in anymore.. Despite on that, i still ate it, but only the unagi without rice. Haha!

Beside all that, we also ordered Kari Mayo - RM2.80 and Inari - RM1.80..

I just can't stop eating... So 'wai sek'!!

...Wasabi with soy sauce is a must! I don't understand why some people just eat the sushi without it. :P

We ordered one warm Ocha (Japanese green tea) - RM1 and one cold Ocha respectively. It is bottomless. They have a pretty interesting drink selection like ice blended green tea.

Ohhh… If you don’t intend to use the wet towel, just leave it there or just bring your own. Apparently each wet towel used cost RM0.20. I didn't realize it until the bill came.
