♥ Love In Bangkok - Sawatdee Kaa ♥

Short note: Due to many pictures to share, i will devide all in few titles of ♥ Love In Bangkok ♥ follow by the category of each different story :)

So yes, finally my Bangkok trip!!

My birthday celebration in this City of Angels!!
This is the second time I boarded on Air Asia (AA). We weren’t planning to fly with Air Asia. But all MAS tickets are sold out. The reason I prefer to fly with MAS is because I have phobia with AA. It landed as if the plane is going to crash when I was flying to Langkawi for my company’s trip a couple of years ago. Obviously AA plane is newer than MAS. The flight was very good, a smooth take-off but landing was terrible! Everyone was like OMG! What happen? No surprise, I knew it is gonna be like this.

Because AA is a low cost airline, no free food and drink provided. No entertainment and magazine or newspaper on board. So bored!

But we are going to Bangkok! And thus nothing can spoil my mood!

Air Asia cabin crews are doing on board sales.

AND WE REACH BANGKOK, THAILAND!

Bangkok International Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK)

My first night in Bangkok was welcoming. After checked in to our hotel in Pratunam, we quickly move to The Platinum Fashion Mall which is located very near to our hotel. Let’s say about 15 mins walk from hotel.

On the way to The Platinum Fashion Mall... We came across with:

I’m sure all, or at least most of you, are aware of the ‘Red Shirt’ protests that are going on in Bangkok. It was like a show to us. They seemed quite happy and were waving to everyone around them. Some passers-by standing next to me were dancing as they cheered the protestors on!

It was really like a party on the road.. Haha

Ahem! Getting hungry already.. We dropped by this stall selling famous pan cakes. There were so many customers queuing for it.

From rasberry, blueberry, strawberry. orange, chocolate, corn soup, pineapple, chili sauce to cashew nut.. So many varieties to choose.

The making

I have ordered cashew nut with cheese, mayonaise with ketchup
Yummy!

Platinum Fashion Mall is the largest Wholesale & Retail shopping complex in Pratunam, Bangkok which specializes in fashion clothes, accessories, leather bags, belts, shoes and accessories. The mall also sells household decorative items, towels, bathroom accessories, Thai handicrafts, candles and more.

There are a number of banks inside the mall and a few outside offering money exchange to tourists. The rates are standard bank exchange rates.

The Mall is situated in an area known as Pratunam. It's a wholesalers hub where you can buy wholesale amounts of clothes and accessories items. It's also very close to Pantip Plaza which is a major IT Mall. Pratunam is a very busy area and traffic jams are a daily occurrence.

I am happily standing in front of this famous largest fashion mall in BKK

I really like to shop here as I can get really nice dresses at really cheap prices. The boutiques operate on the principle that buying 1 piece is a retail sale (normally 100BHT-200BHT higher than wholesale price) , but buying 3 (or sometimes more) pieces is wholesale and you get the wholesale price. Of cause you can mix & match any 3 pieces from the same shop or even share with your friends, but the selections of clothing are so wide, I personally couldn't buy enough with the limited money that I had whenever I was there. :P

WARNING! This mall only accepts cash payment so be ready to bring a lot of cold hard cash to burn at this sinful yet satisfying shopping mall.

Taking picture with this pretty sales girl. She is Thai + Chinese.

The mall has a nice food court at level 6 which serves all the local delights. We tried the Thai Fried Rice and few dishes that I forgot their name (you can see the picture and guess what is that :P) as our first meal in Bangkok when we first landed. As soon as we gathered enough energy after we have finished our meal, we went straight for our shopping. Our first attempt only lasted for 3 floors out of the total 5 floors of clothes shops, until we had spent all our cash available on the first day.

The food court at The Platinum Fashion Mall uses a coupon system for purchasing food. We purchased 150 bath. It is refundable if you still have balance or just keep it for your next visit. It's up to you.

We came back on the last day of our trip and spent all our last penny at this mall before a night we left Bangkok.

To get there, it's probably best to grab a taxi and just tell them "Platinum". However, if you don't mind walking in the heat a bit, then you can take the Skytrain to either Chidlom (Where you can also go shopping at Central Chidlom) or Siam (great shopping area). But where ever you get off, you will have to walk a good 15 minutes and past Central World Plaza, over the small bridge which traverses the very dirty and smelly " San Sap" canal and then round the corner and opposite the Amari Watergate hotel.

This is only our first day, i can't wait for more sight seeing and shopping!!!!
