Asia Restaurant, Senawang Seremban

Ask anyone from Seremban about the best Laksa in town, and i bet they will tell you Asia Restaurant's Laksa! There are two Asia Restaurant in Seremban. One is situated in Loop Road and another one is in Senawang. Both are running by a same family. But the making of the gravy for curry is quite different. For the one in Loop Road, curry is much lighter and not many Santan. For those who doesn't like too much Santan, can consider to go to Asia Restaurant, Loop Road. While Asia Restaurant in Senawang, they tend to put alot of Santan and the gravy was thick.

The restaurant is located in Senawang light industrial, south of Seremban.

The restaurant is located at the corner lot amongst the shop houses.

It’s very difficult to say whether this is the best Laksa, but with the amount of customers day in and day out, i don't have any doubt! Asia Restaurant is very well known in Seremban.

Asia Restaurant is always throng by customers. Especially during weekend and holiday. You may expected to wait up to 30 minutes for your meal. I think it is worth for waiting for good food!

The Laksa was pretty decent. It was flavorful and fragrant! The gravy was just nice, not overly spicy that it burns your tongue, nor was it so mild that you cannot taste the spice mix.

Portions are also good enough. The Laksa was quite creamy.

It is indeed mouth watering just looking at the bowl of Laksa with the rice noodles in the Laksa soup brimming with flavor.

This restaurant also had other kinds of food, such as the Nasi Lemak, dumplings Yong Tau Fu and mixed rice.

The rice was so fragrant, soft and fluffy. The Sambal was not very spicy (this is based on my own taste bud, because i can eat very spicy food) They have cooked the Sambal with alot of onions and anchovies. I love it. The curry chicken was tender & flavorsome! However, i think the chicken was too small for me as i have ordered drumstick and it came with a chicken wing. Hmm! Never mind, i will sure try it again next time!

Domino's Pizza

I love pizza! I find that Domino's Pizza is simply the best! I love the taste and it offers more varieties. I have not dine-in in their store before since they are the delivery expert! There are few tables and chairs in the store. But everyone came in to order their pizza or else they call for delivery. I think those tables and chairs are for people who is in hurry and nothing to do and want to dine in. Just in case la.. Since Domino's Pizza did not have the delivery service in my housing area in Seremban, we walked in to the store and ordered our favourite pizza. Thanks Joanne for belanja! >_<
By the way, do you know that Domino's Pizza started in the year 1960? Wow! That is too long!

Domino’s is the only pizza company that guarantees your order will arrive within 30 minutes or you'll get a free Regular Pizza voucher! Not only that, Domino’s guarantees you’ll receive your Take-Away orders within 15 minutes or you'll get a free Personal Pizza voucher.

We have ordered 2 large Pizzas. One is Classified Chicken with Classic Hand and another one is Seafood Delight with TossedCrunchy Thin Crust. Both are in Top Secret Sauce. So yummy!

See.. See.. See.. Look at their generous toppings. This pizza comes with their “Top Secret Sauce”, an aromatic blend of creamy, cheesy flavours with an unmistakable garlic zest! Delicious! I also love the thin crust, its so crispy and you just cant stop eating it. It is so nice, chewy and not overly thick and hence will not make you overly full.

I love this too! This soft and fluffy breadsticks, sprinkled with garlic seasoning, baked to perfection then served with salsa sauce. Nice as a dessert

Tony Roma's, Sunway Pyramid

I love western food and used to go to many western food restuarants. This was my second time visit Tony Roma's. The last time i been was in The Gardens Mall for Steven's birthday celebration couple of years ago.
I find the Tony Roma's in Sunway Pyramid is pretty spacious and brighter compare to their branch in Mid Valley Megamall and The Curve.

We have directed by friendly waiter to a table next to window. Over the view is Sunway Lagoon.

Tony Roma's is a modern casual dining chain restaurant. Very American style.

You may adjust the window blind. We were enjoying our food while seeing the nice view of Sunway Lagoon over the window..

I simply took some pictures while waiting for our food to be served. No SDLR today, took all pictures with my 'lil pinky camera which i carrying it everywhere i go... Hehe.. So that i can take more pictures to blog it here.. :D

Tony Roma's Drinks and Desserts Menu. Choosing your beverage was a headache because they have many to offer ranging from alcoholic to non-alcoholic. But me and Steven will normally skip the alcoholic section as both of us are non alcoholic people. Haha!

Tony Roma's Set Lunch Menu

I have ordered Grilled Chicken Sandwich (RM19.90) from the Set Lunch menu as i was not very hungry. This is the first time I ordered burger from Tony Roma's. Hmmm.. Undeniably, this burger is massive hugeeee, gosh it's portion for two! Check it out...

I need to compressed it few times just to feed into my mouth. Normally i will try to finish everything i order. Unfortunately, I can't finish it (i mean many french fries left, i love fries, but i was too fulled) and what a waste!

The burgers and sandwiches are visually delicious and filling! I loved the combination of the juicy grilled chicken breast on a toasted Ciabatta bun, sweet red onion rings, cheddar cheese, grilled tomato slices and Romaine lettuce in my Grilled Chicken Sandwich.

Mmmh, sweetly caramelised deep-fried onions! Very crunchy, tasty onion, not too much batter and goes perfectly with the sauce if you order it for a la carte. I simply like to eat it plain, without the sauce, it tastes good too, because the onion is very sweet itself!

Steven has order Fish & Chips (RM19.90) from the Set Lunch menu.

Crunchy battered fresh fish complete with doorstep-thick chips.

Although fries are fattening, but i simply love it.

The complimentary bread with garlic butter. The bread was very soft. So good to eat with the garlic butter! Yummy!

The Set Lunch Soup of the Day varies on a day to day basis. Two choices of soup. This time we got Potato. It gets thumbs up from me! I love the fresh crackers that come with the soups.

I love this creamy potato soup. They have blended in potatoes, onion, some garlic and chicken stock.

Drink comes together with set lunch. Few selections for soft drink. We ordered Iced Lemon Tea. All drinks are free flow for those order set lunch.

Classic yellow mustard will be provided if you are ordering their sandwiche or burger. I prefer to have it original, without any sauce.

The afternoon lunch was really enjoyable with the good companion in the warm and cosy restaurant and delicious food!

Gourmet Malayo, Ara Damansara

My colleague said he would like to try this newly opened restaurant nearby to our office. To be frank, without the banner we might not know where is this restaurant. Gourmet Malayo is situated at the corner lot same row as Proton show room in Ara Damansara here.

Their signature dish - Spanish rice, RM6.30. With a piece of rendang chicken and some veggies.. We think it was pretty expensive.

The rice is quite similar like butter rice. Abit like nasi briyani, but nasi briyani have more spice. If you refer to google, spanish rice is Paella. This spanish rice i had is totally different! It doesn't taste like a real spanish rice (Paella)! You might be dissapointed, just go and don't expect too much.

Overall Rating: 4/10

Ole Ole Bali, Sunway Pyramid

Ole Ole Bali is a Balinese themed restaurant (duh!) that serves authentic Balinese cuisine and also a small selection of Western food.

The restaurant is located on the Ground floor of the popular Sunway Pyramid shopping mall. It has two entrances, one via the mall and the other fronts the main boulevard where you can see the 'sphinx' like monument.

The entrance of Ole-Ole Bali, Sunway Pyramid

The Menu

The seating arrangements offer numerous opportunities, depending on the size of the group. Tables are nice and big, and chairs are comfortable. You also have a chance to be seated on cushions on the floor and tuck in in what I imagine must be a Balinese style of dining.

The interior of the restaurant features many arts and crafts, decorations and handicrafts made with Buddha theme.

Ole Ole Trio (RM38), a huge starter that consists of a few popular combo starters of sate lilit, cumi cumi goreng, fried calamari (fried squid) and grilled chicken wings. The fried calamari was crispy, tender, mouthwatering! While the grilled chicken wing was nice too and I love their accompany sauces very much. You have tartar sauce, a sambal chilie and some cilipadi/lemongrass/onion in oil kind of thing. Share this if you're in a group, you'll find enough portions for two regular eaters (or just enough for one if you are big eater).

Barley Lime, was surprisingly nice.
At RM6 per glass (or RM18 a jug), this barley lime drink is obscenely expensive but with one sip, you'll find yourself ordering another. It's such a refreshing and delightful concoction and it goes so well with the largely spicy and heavy food.

Two good friends are taking pix together. :D

Overall Rating: 8/10
Food Type: Balinese delicacies
Recommended: Ole-Ole Trio (RM38), Barley Lime (RM6 - Glass, RM18 - Jug)
Price: Expensive. Expect to pay RM45/pax.
Tax: Yes
Payment Terms: Cash / Credit Card
Ambiance: Cozy and comfortable. Leisurely and relax. The decor generally has a resort like feel and I appreciate the strong use of hard wood furnishings. Lighting is dim but sufficient and though the Balinese art borders on kitschiness, it fits the theme well.
Service: Unremarkable but not unpleasant.

Halal: Halal

Price Hike: Fuel, Sugar & Gas Up!

Yesterday, 15th July 2010, the Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s administration has taken a politically risky manoeuvre by raising prices of three types of fossil fuels, sugar and cooking gas in the country via the reduction of subsidy. These subsidy cuts are supposed to save the government RM750 million a year. The government claims that even after these cuts it will continue to spend about RM7.82 billion a year on fuel and sugar subsidies.
Both RON95 and RON97 grade petrol and diesel prices will be raised by RM0.05 per litre, while liquified petroluem gas (LPG) will be raised by RM0.10 per kilogramme.

Sugar prices will be raised by RM0.25 per kg.

All price increases will take effect from midnight 16th July 2010.The breakdown of the new prices are:

RON 95 grade petrol – RM1.85 per litre
RON 97 grade petrol – RM2.10 per litre
Diesel – RM1.75 per litre
White refined coarse granulated sugar – RM1.90 per kg
Liquified petroluem gas – RM1.85 per kg

For cooking gas: (each cylinder)
10kg – from RM17.50 to RM18.50, RM1.00 hike
12kg – from RM21.00 to RM22.20, RM1.20 hike
14kg – from RM24.50 to RM25.90, RM1.40 hike

Our government has never fail to invent new system. We will get big 'surprise' from to time. Most of the time all those new system that implemented never satisfies us! Everything is increase and up, when is the time our salary will get increase?

Oriental Chicken Restaurant, Glenmarie

Glenmarie is now quite famous, beside well known as a light industrial area, it is also famous for food place! All because of the mushrooming of restaurants in this area recently.
Oriental Chicken Restaurant is a newly opened restaurant. Selling mainly chicken rice. Beside that, they also served other dishes which i can't remember that name.. LOL.

I thought of ordering roasted chicken rice. But i was surprise when i was told by the boss, they only serve steamed chicken. Hmmm.. Don't ask me why, cause i don't know too. :P

The chicken was smooth and tasted 'kampung chicken' compared to the rather bland, probably frozen chicken we get. Steamed chicken + rice + bean sprout + chicken soup - RM5.90 When i looked at the bill, i noticed that tights, drumstick, wings, etc.. All same price! No additional charges.

The rice was simply marvelous. You are able to taste each grain of rice, infused with chicken essence. Slightly on the hard side but that allows you to enjoy every grain instead of spoonful of carbohydrates..
Fresh cruchy bean sprout. I like to eat with the sauce.
This is recommended by the boss. For those who doesn't like or want to try something different, you can try this. Sorry i forgot the name, but it show on the menu. :) My colleague said it was very nice, the only thing was the pork is abit fat.. Overall, he said it was good. I believe they marinated the pork quite well to made the pork so 'tasty'. Chef recommended set meal - RM8.90.

Overall Rating: 7/10
Food Type: Chicken Rice
Price: Reasonable. Steamed Chicken Ric - RM5.90, Chef Special Set Meal - RM8.90, Plain Rice (additional) - RM1.20, Bailey Hot - RM1.30, Chinese Tea - RM0.70. (Total bill: RM27.00 - for 3 person).

Service: Good. Our food served pretty fast as the restaurant was crowded. When i asked the boss will it takes long for the food to serve, he aswered me with confident 'Fast'. :D

Wanton Mee From Muar

I guess most people from Muar has tasted the this Muar Wanton Noodles. I was told that this is teh best Wanton Noodles in town. Even if you are not fancy for Wanton Noodles, you should also visit this tiny shop.

Springy and of a very 'chewable' texture. The Wanton Noodles tauke makes sure that the sauce is thoroughly mixed with the noodles before serving it to you. For the Char Siew, it is very normal. Tasteless. :P

Although the Wanton is not big enough, but it tasted quite nice.

...If you don't like Wanton Noodles, you can order Satay. Here they have Pork Satay, Chicken Satay, Beef Satay, Mutton Satay.

Overall Rating: 6/10
